Phrasing “〜方がいい(〜hougaii)” with native Japanese voice (N5 level)

Phrasing “〜方がいい(〜hougaii)” is often used in conversation.
Phrasing “〜方がいい(〜hougaii)”
方がいい is used when you give advice what to do or what not to do to others.
In English, this is equivalent to “You should 〜 or You should not 〜”. In other words, it’s advice in positive and negative meaning.
Formation for 〜方がいい (hougaii)
① 〜verb (dictionary form) +方がいい
② 〜verb (denial form) +方がいい
Example for ~ほうがいい(〜hougaii)
A)はやく寝た方がいい
(You should sleep early)
⇒In this sentence, I want to say “I give you advice to sleep early.”
B) タバコはすわない方がいい。
(You should not smoke)
⇒In this sentence, I want to say “I give you advice not to smoke.”
